Visualisation of the new hospital in Prešov

What we will procure for the new hospital in Prešov, when and how

One place where suppliers can see the whole equipment procurement schedule: which groups of devices are being prepared, which stage they are in and when preliminary market consultations (PTK) open. Every group has a verified datasheet, which is published as part of the consultation.

    Tender overview

All equipment groups. The status comes from the internal schedule, updated . For groups in preparation and in consultation you can register your interest: we will e-mail you when their consultation opens or their tender is published. For published tenders the link leads straight to the tender in the Tenderia system. The icon next to a group name opens the hospital floor plan and shows where that equipment will be placed (ground floor and basement 1 for now).

PTK preliminary market consultation · PHZ estimated contract value · VO public procurement (Slovak abbreviations used on Tenderia). Tender documents on Tenderia are in Slovak.

    Datasheet library

Final technical specifications of the groups that have been through consultation and tender. They are freely available: to other hospitals as a basis for their own procurement, to suppliers as a reference of what we expect from the equipment.

How the procurement of an equipment group works

The standard process for above-threshold contracts has six steps. Suppliers take part in steps 2 and 3: once the notice is published in the public procurement bulletin, they can join the preliminary market consultations, where the technical specification is refined together with the clinicians. For smaller or straightforward contracts the process is shortened, see the types of preparation below. Durations are in working days (wd).

    1

    Specification review

    5 wd

Review of the technical specifications and of the clinicians' requirements before the consultation is announced.

    2

    PTK notice

    15 wdshort 8 wd

The preliminary market consultation is announced through a notice in the public procurement bulletin.

    3

    PTK consultations

    40 to 120 wdshort 20 wd

Communication with the market, site visits, comments on the datasheet. This step is longest for critical equipment (black box).

    4

    Setting the estimated value

    up to 5 wd

The estimated contract value (PHZ) is based on the results of the consultations. It is normally set as the average of the 3 lowest prices found.

    5

    Public tender

    60 wdshort 45 wd

The tender is published, offers are submitted within the deadline and then evaluated.

    6

    Contracting

    10 wd

The contract with the winning bidder is signed and published in the Central Register of Contracts (CRZ).

Full PTKThe hospital has only a broad idea of what the market offers. The process includes site visits at suppliers and at other hospitals, and is longer and more open.
Short PTKThe hospital knows what it needs and only wants to test the market and find its limits. Both the notice and the consultations are shorter.
Preparation without PTKUsed for lower values or for equipment where there is a consensus and no wide discussion is needed. The preparation draws on existing materials, know-how and the experience of other hospitals.
No PTKThe hospital already has specifications from its earlier tenders, so no consultation is needed.

How we verify prices and where to find the contracts

Every estimated contract value and every awarded price is compared with the prices other hospitals paid for the same equipment. We use a medical equipment price database that we run and make available to the public and to other hospitals.

For every published tender the overview links to the tender in the Tenderia system, and for closed ones to the contract in the Central Register of Contracts.
